Fresh matches on top, spent ones below.
Have you ever wanted your matches out in a vessel instead of the box they came in? This one holds them in a cone at the top, heads up and ready. The bottom edge is unglazed, a band of gritty raw ceramic, so you strike the match on the piece itself, then drop it in the open bowl below once it's out. It works with strike-anywhere matches only, and fifteen come with it.
Each piece is wheel thrown by hand in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, from regionally sourced stoneware and finished with hand-mixed glazes, so no two are identical.

Why We Chose It
We are always looking for match strikers that are not only beautiful but also work as a vessel for the burnt ones. There's nothing like the stress of dropping a still-warm match into a trash can. This one gives it somewhere to go.
