Handblown Roli Poli Glass - amber

Handblown Stemless Wine Glass, Roli Poli

Sophisticated, but not too delicate.

Stemless means nothing to snap off, and this one sits low and wide, 4 inches tall and 3.5 inches at its widest. It has real weight in the hand, the kind handblown glass holds, which keeps it steady on a crowded table. Dishwasher safe, so it goes straight from dinner to the rack. It's a glass for evenings on the couch and for hosting people you actually like.

It's blown from 100% recycled glass, which gives it a faint green cast, and made in two family-owned hot shops in Puebla and Jalisco, Mexico, run by third-generation women. They work in both traditional and contemporary techniques, and the result is glassware that's balanced and durable while still carrying the marks of the hand that made it.

How To Use

• Fill it with wine, water, a cocktail, or your morning juice. Stemless glassware does not stand on ceremony.
• Hold it low around the widest part, where the weight sits.
• Dishwasher safe. Avoid extreme temperature swings, like pouring boiling liquid into a cold glass.

A Note on Handmade Glass

Because each piece is blown by hand, dimensions and weight vary slightly from glass to glass, and small bubbles or ripples are part of the process rather than flaws. We value that unevenness. It is the evidence of a person doing the work.

Why We Chose It

We deeply admire the craft of hand-blowing glass, and what we wanted was glassware that could keep up with our slightly clumsy selves in the kitchen and at the table. This collection does exactly that. It carries the mark of the artist's hand without asking to be handled carefully, which is a rare combination.
