Handmade Ceramic Olive Oil Bottle

Olive oil goes bad faster in a clear bottle, because light is what breaks it down. This one is opaque stoneware, so the oil keeps better sitting out where you actually want it, next to the stove. It holds 22 ounces and comes with a weighted gold pour spout that gives you a clean, controlled stream instead of a glug. Good for vinegar and syrups too.

Every bottle is wheel thrown, trimmed, finished, and dip glazed by hand at a village studio in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, using regionally sourced stoneware and hand-mixed glazes. Each one is signed by the potter. Small differences from piece to piece are the record of a person making it rather than a machine.

How To Use

  • Fill through the top and set the weighted spout in place.
  • Pour in a slow, steady tip. The spout meters the stream on its own.
  • Rinse the spout now and then, since oil can go rancid where it sits.
  • Dishwasher safe. Remove the metal spout before microwaving.
