Long enough to keep your hand away from the fire.
The handle on this brush runs the full length of the tool, about 17.7 inches, so you can lay marinade across the far side of a hot grill without leaning over the heat. It's a simple fix for a problem every short-handled basting brush has.
The head is light, double-boiled pig bristle, held in a stainless steel ferrule and set into a stained beechwood body. Natural bristle carries sauce well and lays it down evenly rather than flicking it, and the double-boiling process cleans and sets the bristle so it holds its shape through repeated use. Made by Bürstenhaus Redecker in Germany.

Why We Chose It
We chose this brush because it comes from a German brushmaking tradition that still treats a basting brush as a real tool: natural bristle, a steel ferrule, a hardwood handle, and enough length to keep your hand out of the heat. Nothing about it is clever. It just works, and it will keep working for years.
