A block of beechwood, a palm full of brass bristles, and nothing in between.
There's no handle on this one, and that's the point. You wrap your hand around the wooden body and put your weight directly over the bristles, which is how you get real pressure into baked-on residue. A long handle gives you reach. This gives you force and control, for the corners of the firebox, the burner covers, and the gaps between narrow rods that a big brush skims right over.
The bristles are brass wire, softer than steel, so they clear residue without chewing up enameled or porcelain-coated grates. The body is untreated beechwood, left raw with no stain or varnish to break down near heat. It will gray and darken with use, the way an honest wooden tool does. Made by Bürstenhaus Redecker in Germany.

Why We Chose It
We chose this brush as the companion to the long-handled one. Every grill has places a big brush can't reach cleanly, and rather than force it, Redecker just made a smaller brush. Same brass bristles, same build, sized to sit in your hand right where the work is.
